  This place is so much fun! The decor is amazing! There are concerts and live bands all the time. The roping arena is neat too. Prices are kinda high but its the best Country bar around!

  After being away for a year (medical reasons), we met friends Thursday (12/4) to have a "reunion" of sorts at one of our (formerly) enjoyable venues. We came early...too early, but that shouldn't matter. DJ music was going, some folks were dancing (small crowd that day/hour). Kitchen didn't open until 6. Then music muted, lights at front came on. Ordered food, most came without the things we asked to be put on. Over priced. Music still muted. Time passed. More time passed. Asked why music muted. Having a "security meeting" we were told. More time passed. Tried to dance to muted music. Didn't work. More than an hour passed and still nothing (we'd already been there 1.5 hours). Disgusted we left dissatisfied. PR tip from one who has been in the PR business: If you've got to have a "security meeting," you shouldn't expect paying customers who come for food, drinks & entertainment to be penalized while you have a "security meeting." Have the bloody "security meeting" somewhere else and let paying customers enjoy their visit.

  This was the worst eating experience I have ever had. The food came cold. When it got there we didn't have plates or silver ware so we had to wait. On top of all that the food was just crummy. There was nothing even remotely exceptional or notable about anything they served us. The cooks or whoever they were that were bringing the food from the kitchen looked like they had just walked across the boarder, dirty and unkempt with no hairnet. The kicker is the price!! Way way over priced. The least they could do is serve a sausage that isn't the cheapest thing HEB sells full of soy fillers.
  I would never recommend this place to anyone. I brought relatives from Mexico and had told them I heard the food was good, i was embarrassed for the service and Quality.

  Winks is by FAR the best place to go for a night out in South Texas. The staff is friendly and attentive. The roping arena, music (live band/DJ), and dance floor provide an endless amount of fun for the entire family. There's no place like it! The ambience is simply unparalleled. It's where we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, hold girls night out, and/or simply unwind after a long work week. Can't say enough good things about this place!
